Kristi is a native of East Tennessee, where she attended the Webb School of Knoxville. She attended the College of Charleston (S.C.), where she graduated with honors. In Knoxville, she gives of her time and talent regularly by providing free dental care to the area’s homeless and underprivileged. When she’s not transforming smiles with dramatic positive results, she spends time with her daughters, exercises, reads, and watches football.

Kristi Newton, DDS and Daniel Newton, DDS
The husband-and-wife team of Newton Cosmetic Dentistry met while in dental school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Kristi and Daniel began their career together serving the dental needs of underprivileged Navajo Indians on a reservation in Fort Defiance, Arizona. Since 2004, they have operated Newton Cosmetic Dentistry, building one of East Tennessee’s most successful practices. They have two young daughters, Vivian and Sophia, and are active members of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church.
Daniel is a Memphis native who attended Memphis University School and Rhodes College, where he also played football while earning a biology degree. Daniel’s a dedicated father who also enjoys playing golf, basketball, and weightlifting.

Staff Bios
Stacey Branam, RDA Stacey has been in dentistry since 2001 and joined Newton in 2004. An East Tennessee native, she provides Newton patients with care and comfort that exceed expectations. Stacey says her favorite part of her job is “seeing the anticipated smile of a patient’s heart.”
Tonya Haas, RDA Tonya is Newton’s hygiene assistant and first joined the practice in 2004. Born in Jacksonville, Fla. in a military family, Tonya is now settled with her husband and her daughter, Rebekah, in East Tennessee.
Heather Leonard, RDA Heather joined Newton in 2007, fresh from graduating from Tennessee Technology Center. She grew up in Maryland and Tennessee and loves developing relationships with Newton’s patients. Heather and her husband just added Sierra, a beautiful baby girl, to their family.
Tracy Payne, Office Manager Tracy has been Newton’s Office Manager since 2004, and has an extensive knowledge of dental insurance and ways to maximize patient benefits to get the best care and service possible. An organized, efficient manager, Tracy began her dental career in 1996. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, Taylor, and assisting her husband in ministry work.
Tammy Sliger, RDH, Dental Hygienist Tammy earned her dental hygiene degree from East Tennessee State University in 1992. She spent four years in the Marines in California and then returned to East Tennessee and joined the Newton’s practice. She recently has completed continuing education in the latest research in periodontics, soft tissue management, and dental hygiene products. She and her husband have a son, Mason.
